The move is classified as one of the most uncommon chess openings in history. It’s not everyone who can play this opening and still win. The F3 move is liable to leave the white side at a disadvantageous position and a likely checkmate.
The Two-Move Checkmate
This might seem unbelievable to you, but there really is something called the two-move checkmate. The two-move checkmate, or Fool’s mate, is a fast way for a black player to bring a checkmate in just two steps.
But these steps depend more on the inexperience or blunder of the white player than on real strategic thinking. And yes, you guessed it. The two-move checkmate involves moving the f pawn to either f3 or f4.
After the white makes such a bad opening, the black player moves their e-pawn to e6. If the white player then moves their g pawn to g-6, the black side will bring out his black queen to h4, and voila, it’s a checkmate!
The possibility of the two-move checkmate beings used against you is one of the reasons why F3 opening is such a bad idea. It’s akin to a type of suicidal chess. If you want to protect your king, then always avoid the F3 opening.
